Default Should I become a firefighter until i become a Physical Therapist?

I am in high school and I want to become a physical therapist in sports medicine. During college I would like to become a fire fighter you know so I can get some money to help my parents pay for college. Should I become a firefighter or would it be a better idea to get an internship at a PT office? Where i live fire fighters work one day, then they are off for two days. Would this be enough off days to study to become a physical therapist?

It seems like it would be difficult to plan your school schedule around your job. I would recommend you get an internship at a PT office - they have more stable hours and it would be very good for your resume.

In PT school, you will jprbably only able to work a few hours a week as school is intensive. It is alot like medical school. You may be better trying something in the medical profession for some experience. When you do your clinicals for about 36 weeks you will work full time in a PT practice as well as preparing for the next day.

Well, what type of training does it take to become a fire fighter? If you have the time to do that now while you're still in high school I would say go for it! That way you can come back to it later when you're in college if that is still what you want to do. A lot of things change once you're in college. You may go in a completely different direction or find paid work elsewhere, but if what you want to do is be a fire fighter and go to school at the same time, you will find the time. Where there's a will, there's a way. But once more, get the certification process out of the way now. Good luck

I think if you need to become a fire fighter to pay for your studies then its something you should do. Then again, ofcoarse the internship will look really good on your resume and it will help you get started. I think you should find out more about both of the schedules and see what it better for you.
