Default good choice!

I am a political Science major (getting my masters) and I absolutely love it. I had no idea when I first started college that I would become so involved in it, so that's good that you already know you are interested in it! first step down. Have you taken any political science classes before? If not, you may want to go into college undecided and just take your gen ed classes first, along with a political science class as an elective to make sure you really like it, if you have already, declare a major in 1.)political science, 2.) mass communications, or 3.) Writing or Journalism. Anything with writing and communicating is going to help you prepare to become a Senator or politician. Having good communication and writing skills is what we are told makes a great politician, not just your IQ (although that won't hurt either ) If you really want to get a head start ahead of everyone else, contact your local representative or any other city/county officials and ask if you can do some volunteer work for them, or job shadow them once a week or so if you're schedule allows. Most of the time they are always excited to see young people want to get involved and may be up to letting you come along, plus they would know a lot more about it than me since they have probably had years of experience! Hope this helped at least a little!
